CW PCSELs towards laser processing (λ~940nm)

We have realized high-power and high-beam-quality CW operation of PCSELs. Such CW PCSELs are expected to contribute laser processing.

The video below shows that a lens-free CW laser beam can be used to make a device-sized (≈beam-sized) hole in a piece of paper.

We have recently achieved high-beam-quality CW 10W operation. We have successfully demonstrated surface processing of metal (stainless) with focusing the output of PCSEL. A very tiny hole with the size of 6um has been successfully formed.
